You Cannot Steal My Peace ✌🏽

Be Gone Energy Vampire

It’s been several years that I’ve been self-employed, but over the last couple, it’s become more evident that I am mostly a manager of humans, and not a full-time journalist. It’s really fine. I’m incredibly grateful - because it’s taught me how to be flexible, non-judgmental of other’s pain or suffering, and allow things to roll off my back (most days 🫤).

Is it ever okay to talk back, or email or text back in the same tone, or to ask someone, “are you okay”, when you feel their snark? Damn straight it is! Why allow someone to steal your peace. It’s not acceptable to allow someone to treat you like a doormat or seemingly so. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been yelled at, on the phone, in person, or in all caps by text or email. (And yes, I do consider that yelling, don’t you? 🧐)

I don’t like being ghosted, but don’t you think once you’ve made your point and had your back and forth, and either quelled the heat, or calmed it down some, it might be time to back off, and no longer answer? Otherwise you could lose that relationship if you pick at it too much, or at the very least inflame it more.

I’d love your take on how you handle hardliners! Hit me up.
